Michael J. Astrue was sworn in as Commissioner of Social Security on February 12, 2007 for a six-year term that expires on January 19, 2013.  The Social Security Administration is an independent federal agency headquartered in suburban Baltimore with over 65,000 employees nationwide.  Commissioner Astrue reports directly to President Obama.

Admiral Robert J. Papp, Jr. assumed the duties of the 24th Commandant of the U.S. Coast Guard on May 25, 2010. He leads the largest component of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), comprised of 42,000 active duty, 8,200 Reserve, 8,000 civilian and 31,000 volunteer Auxiliarists.

Seth Diamond

As Commissioner, Mr. Diamond will continue to direct the City's efforts to prevent homelessness, and provide short-term emergency shelter and re-housing support for New Yorkers who need it.  He will also look to further enhance support systems for shelter clients who are working, and assist them in making the transition out of shelter to self sufficiency. Commissioner Diamond succeeds Robert Hess who told the Mayor last month he would be accepting a position with The Doe Fund.

Haas, a former White House communications strategist and award-winning journalist, is now Senior Fellow for U.S. Foreign Policy at the American Foreign Policy Council, a member of the Committee on the Present Danger, and a public affairs consultant. He writes widely on foreign and domestic affairs, is quoted often in newspapers and magazines, and appears frequently on TV and radio.

John Morton

John Morton was unanimously confirmed as the Director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) by the U.S. Senate on May 12, 2009. ICE is the principal investigative arm of the Department of Homeland Security and the second largest investigative agency in the federal government. Created in 2003, the agency has a budget of $5.7 billion dollars and more than 20,000 employees in offices in all 50 states and 47 foreign countries.

Danny Werfel is the Controller, Office of Federal Financial Management (OFFM) within the Office of Management and Budget (OMB). He is responsible for coordinating OMB's efforts to initiate government-wide improvements in all areas of financial management.

Mr. Werfel plays a leadership role in coordinating OMB review of agency efforts under the Financial Performance, Real Property, and Improper Payments initiatives of the President's Management Agenda.
