C. Joseph Ross Daval, J.D. is a research fellow at the Program on Regulation, Therapeutics, and Law (PORTAL), at Brigham & Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School. His work has appeared in JAMA, the New England Journal of Medicine, and Health Affairs, and examines how prescription drug policy is shaped by federal laws and regulations, covering topics such as FDA’s use of advisory committees, misconduct in the pharmaceutical industry, and Medicare’s authority to shape drug coverage. Joseph received a J.D. from Yale Law School, where he served as an editor on the Yale Law Journal, and a codirector of the HAVEN Medical-Legal Partnership, which connected uninsured New Haven residents with legal assistance. He has held summer positions at the National Immigration Law Center and the Chambers of the President of the Supreme Court of Israel.
