Rodney Bent

Rodney Bent joined the House Appropriations Committee in mid-April of 2004. Before joining
the House of Representatives, Mr. Bent worked with the Coalition Provisional Authority (CPA), which was the
temporary governing body designated by the United Nations as the lawful government of Iraq
until Iraq assumed sovereignty. While working with the CPA, Mr. Bent was the Senior Advisor
for Ministry of Planning & Development Cooperation, Senior Advisor for the Ministry of Finance, and
lead the CPA's Office of Management and Budget. From 1983 to 2003, Mr. Bent worked with the
Office of Management and Budget (OMB). He joined the International Affairs Division of OMB in 1986
and lead the division in 1998. In 1982, Mr. Bent was the Assistant Vice President of
Bankers Trust in New York City, NY. Mr. Bent also worked with the U.S. Department of Treasury, within
the International Affairs Division, from 1978 to 1982.
Mr. Bent received his BA and MBA from Cornell University and his MA from the Fletcher School of
Law and Diplomacy.
