Donald J. LaVoy


Donald J. "DJ" LaVoy is the Director of HUD's Real Estate Assessment Center (REAC). He joined the US Department of Housing and Urban Development in 1997 as the change agent for the HUD 2020 Management Reform effort and was subsequently appointed to stand up and head HUD's award winning E-Government organization- the REAC.

Prior to coming to HUD, DJ was a naval aviator with the United States Marine Corps and held the rank Colonel. He also served the Marine Corps as a Financial Manager/Systems Analyst, Chief Operations Officer, and Program Manager. Throughout his career he has been recognized as an innovator, organizer, and manager.

He attended Old Dominion University where he obtained his Bachelor of Science in Economics. He graduated from the US Army War College with a Masters of Science in Industrial Science and was a Fellow at the Massachusetts Institution of Technology.

In his spare time, DJ enjoys fly fishing, gardening, and music.
