Our Blog

The IBM Center for The Business of Government is a "how to" resource for public sector executives to improve the effectiveness of government. We help connect public management research with practice by sponsoring independent research by academics and the non-profit sector. Over 200 of their published reports are available elsewhere on this site.

We also provide real-time insights into public management challenges via a series of blogs. These blogs are written by Center staff, IBM management experts, and academics. These blogs will evolve over the coming months to cover key issues facing public managers. Topics will include the Obama Administration's management priorities, the challenges of ensuring adequate management capacity in areas such as the public sector workforce, contracting, performance, and collaboration.

You are invited to join in the on-line conversation of these topics via comments to individual blog postings, or by emailing us.
