Stephen is a graduate student at the University of Maryland School of Public Policy. Prior to beginning his graduate studies, Stephen worked as a reporter for The Associated Press, covering the Ohio General Assembly, the Ohio governor, and executions.

Stephen also worked for the AP in Florida, covering Florida politics and government. He received his undergraduate degree from Northwestern University in journalism and political science. In his graduate studies at the School of Public Policy, Stephen is specializing in International Security and Economic Policy.
