Babita Gupta is Professor of Information Systems at the College of Business, California State University Monterey Bay. She teaches courses in information technology innovation, information technology strategies, business intelligence & analytics, database management, and computer information systems.  She serves as an Advisory Board Member of the Teradata University Network, a non-profit division of Dr. Gupta was elected as the Program-Chair-Elect Officer in 2012 for the Special Interest Group on Decision Support, Knowledge and Data Management Systems (SIGDSS) under Association for information Systems (AIS) organization. She has also served as a board member of the California Coastal Rural Development Corporation for over a decade.

Her research areas research interests are in the areas of technology adoption, online security and privacy, business intelligence strategies, and the role of culture in IT. I have published in journals such as the Communications of the Association for Information Systems (CAIS), Journal of Electronic Commerce Research (JECR), the Journal of Strategic Information Systems (JSIS), the Communications of the ACM (CACM), the Journal of Industrial Management and Data System, the Journal of Scientific and Industrial Research, the Journal of Information Technology Cases and Applications, and the Journal of Computing and Information Technology.

Professor Gupta holds a PhD in management sciences and information technology from the University of Georgia, Athens, an MS in industrial and management engineering from the University of Iowa, Iowa City, and a BE in electrical and electronic engineering from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, India.
