Angela M. Antonelli was nominated by President George W. Bush and confirmed by the U.S. Senate as HUD's Chief Financial Officer (CFO) on July 12, 2001.

As the CFO, Ms. Antonelli has direct responsibility for the formulation and execution of the Department's $32 billion budget, strategic planning, financial management, the presentation of accurate financial information, and management integrity. The CFO manages the development and implementation of the Department's financial management policies, procedures and systems, and oversees the Department's accounting and asset management functions, including cash, credit, and debt management. The CFO is responsible for preparing required reports to the President and Congress, the Office of Management and Budget, the Department of the Treasury, and the U.S. General Accounting Office.

Ms. Antonelli currently chairs the CFO Council's Human Capital Committee. Prior to her current appointment, Ms. Antonelli was the Director of the Thomas A. Roe Institute for Economic Policy Studies at The Heritage Foundation, a non-profit public policy research organization. She also was a private sector consultant, a Deputy Branch Chief with the White House Office of Management and Budget, and held positions with the U.S. General Accounting Office and the New Jersey State Department of Education.

Ms. Antonelli's work has earned her professional recognition and awards. She has testified several times before Congress on public policy issues, including federal spending and government reform. Her views, articles, and work have appeared in national newspapers and magazines around the nation, including The New York Times, The Washington Post, the Washington Times, The Weekly Standard, Roll Call, Fortune, and Business Week. She has appeared on radio and television, including CNN, Fox and PBS.

She also was appointed and served President Bush as a member of the President's Commission on White House Fellowships.

A summa cum laude graduate of Cornell University, Ms. Antonelli received a Master's degree in public affairs from Princeton University.

Ms. Antonelli lives with her husband in Virginia.
